FASHION FOR A CAUSE

WALKING the ramp for one’s favourite fashion designer may be the norm among contemporary Bollywood celebrities but the same can’t be said of veteran actors who rarely appear in public, let alone sashay down the ramp. On Sunday evening, however, braving the monsoon drizzle were Waheeda Rehman and Asha Parekh. The two actors — who could teach the industry a thing or two about ageing gracefully — looked their stunning elegant selves at the annual Caring with Style fashion show. Aimed at supporting cancer patients, the event — organised by the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) and held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai — had cancer survivors, style icons and achievers from different walks of life walking the ramp in the creations of designers Manish Malhotra and Shaina NC.
