From two flowers fobbing together to a kiss behind the tree to showing an actual lip-lock, Hindi films have sure come-of-age.

Actors are shedding their inhibitions to scorch the silver screen and people are definitely not raising eyebrows anymore. As everything is kiss and tell here, we take you through the 5 best on-screen kiss scenes of Bollywood.

1) Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai
Aishwarya Rai had always been very wary of kissing on-screen; but, when she shed all her inhibitions with Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2, she showed us how it’s actually done! However, the kiss did not go down well with everyone, especially the Bachchans! The actress was also said to have received legal threats following the movie’s release.

2) Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor
Karisma Kapoor’s career was going nowhere, till the kiss in the film Raja Hindustani salvaged her. Of course Aamir Khan is known to kiss all his co-stars; however, Karisma was one lucky actress. When a drenched Karishma teased Raja Hindustani, Aamir in the rain, little did we know that thunder and the lightening would heat things up and how! The kiss lasted for almost 10 minutes making it the longest and best on-screen kissing scene of Bollywood.

3) Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor
Considering that this was a goodbye kiss between Shahid and Kareena in Jab We Met, as the duo parted ways whilst shooting for the film, the chemistry was rather sizzling. That was when their MMS video also went viral and the audience, thus, waited with bated breath for the film to release. As a result, the film was a smashing hit, their chemistry was almost tangible and the kiss was the most talked about aspect of the film.

4) Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat
The early days of glory for Emraan Hashmi as a serial kisser of Bollywood and Mallika Sherawat with her devil-may-care attitude saw them heating it up all over in Mahesh Bhatt’s Murder. Needless to say, these on-screen kisses created quite a buzz but fortunately for the actors, that was all what was needed to give them a breakthrough in the industry.

5) Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit
The film ‘Dayavan’ was a Bollywood remake of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Naayakan’. But it was remembered more for the explicit lip-lock between young Madhuri and a much older Vinod Khanna. The kiss was an essential scene required to set the tempo of the film and it was one of the longest and best on-screen Bollywood kisses of that time. Their passionate love-making scene also became the most searched online video.
